St Kitts and Nevis observing Global Entrepreneurship Week

St. Kitts and Nevis is celebrating ‘Global Entrepreneurship Week’ which began Monday and ends Sunday.

‘Global Entrepreneurship Week’ is held under the theme ‘Building Forward Better -Creating Equality and Equity through Entrepreneurship’.
Small Business and Entrepreneurship Minister, Samal Duggins, delivered the feature address to mark the occasion.


“My Ministry, and by extension the government, is committed to the continued development of the sector as we fully understand that small businesses are not only the drivers for growth but also the lifeblood of the economy,” Minister Duggins said.

He said the newly-established unit will continue provide technical assistance to entrepreneurs.

“Through the activities and support programmes of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC St. Kitts) …we will continue to provide the necessary technical assistance which is vital for growth and development of the sector,” Duggins assured.
To mark the week, on Tuesday, the Minister and officials visited various businesses owned or operated by youth entrepreneurs. Today at 9 a.m., a press event will be held at the National ICT Centre.

At 8:30 p.m. a televised panel discussion dubbed Cannabiz will be held, while on Thursday, an announcement on new 2023 business support initiatives for entrepreneurs is expected.

There will be a Small Business Expo at Independence Square on Friday where entrepreneurs will showcase their products and services.
While declaring open Global Entrepreneurship (GEW) minister Duggins saluted all national entrepreneurs and ecosystem support partners who make up the economic building block in Basseterre.
